Taking place on the second weekend of October 2015, the Run Rider offers three different course lengths so that beginners and well as duathlon regulars can match an enjoyable distance to their abilities.

MINI VDO RunRider
A challenging but manageable introduction to off road duathlons.
Competitors will start of with a 6km running route (approx. 145m of climbing), followed by 1 lap of the 9km long (approx. 155m of climbing per lap) mountain bike course, then a final 6km running lap (approx. 145m of climbing).
Overall race distance: approx. 20km
Overall climbing: 445m
Entry fee: £30 or £45 for a team of up to 2 people (all entrants will receive a special finishers gift).

STANDARD VDO RunRider
A challenging off road duathlon.
Competitors will start of with a 6km running route (approx. 145m of climbing), followed by 2 laps of the 9km long (approx. 155m of climbing per lap) mountain bike course then a final 6km running lap (approx. 145m of climbing).
Over all race distance: approx. 28.8km
Over all climbing: 560m
Entry fee: £30 or £45 for a team of up to 2 people (all entrants will receive a special finishers gift).

CLASSIC VDO RunRider
Not for the faint hearted!
Competitors will start of with two 6km running laps (approx. 145m of climbing per lap), followed by 3 laps of the 9km long (approx. 155m of climbing per lap) mountain bike course then a final 6km running lap (approx. 145m of climbing).
Over all race distance: approx. 43.2km
Over all climbing: 900m
Entry fee: £35 or £50 for a team of up to 2 people (all entrants will receive a special finishers gift).

Categories:

All three events can be run in teams of up to two people. Handover to another team member is only allowed after a discipline has been finished and must take place within the transition area.

Prizes:
There will be a podium presentation and prizes giving for every category down to 3rd position. If a category has less than 5 entries than it will be integrated in the nearest available one.

Registration Opening times
Registration will be open from 8.00am – 9.30am on the day
You will be able to rack your bike in the transition area from 9.15am onwards

There will be a competitors briefing for ALL races at 9.45am at the start/finish area – please make sure you are here for this as we will communicate any last minute essential race information at this briefing.

Affiliation:
The Run Rider is affiliated with the British Triathlon Federation. Holders of a British Triathlon Federation membership only have to pay the entry fee. Everybody without a British Triathlon Federation membership is required to purchase a day membership (£3) which will be added to the entry fee.

Organisers
The duathlon is organised by Mike Wilkins and Paul Gardener of Bristol Bike Fest and Nigel Muntz. Between them, they have many years experience of organising mountain bike, running and music events of all different sizes throughout the UK. As well as organising events, they actively compete in mountain bike, running and adventure races across the UK and Europe in their respective race teams of Merida, Zero G and Shred Racing.
