Description
I created this piece to represent ‘that which lies beneath the surface’.
Initial appearances often disguise a much deeper complexity once the observer engages with a subject. Labeling is a simplification that enables us to process life events, although this erroneous habit can leave us with a very blinkered and restricted view.
The Art is layered to give a 3 dimensional feel. Each layer is designed on computer and then cut with CNC router in 6mm MDF and then sanded ready for painting. 2 undercoats and 3 top coats of acrylic and varnish machine sprayed give a smooth satin finish. The frame is made from oiled and waxed antique oak recycled floorboards.
