This is a wooden perpetual calendar in the shape of a moon It is made from birch wood with engraved days, weeks and numbers on the wheels. Each wheel can be turned independently so you can change it to the correct date every day.
This has swirls engraved onto the face (filled with dark brown pigment), and is finished with several coats of lacquer to give a deep sheen and bring out the rich tones and textures in the wood. It is then polished with wax. It is about 135mm tall and 135mm wide.
