Leather dog collar with free personalisation

Description

3/4″ wide, designed and hand-made to last a lifetime; from full grain vegetable tanned leather.

Available in Black, Chestnut Brown, Red Earth, Honey Tan and Natural (un-dyed colour that will produce a unique patina over time).

All collars are then hand-burnished and sealed with beeswax to add a stronger waterproof layer.

What is Veg Tan Leather?

Vegetable Tanned Leather is the preferred material for many leather workers because, despite the increased cost to buy, it is a beautiful material to work with. Only natural materials such as fruits, leaves, and husks are used to dye the leather, after which, each hide is hung for several weeks. This is compared to the globally dominant method of Chromium tanning, which reduces the process to a mere few days. Whilst certainly time-effective, it is important to me to try to avoid using chrome-tanned leather as the vast use of acidic chemicals in this process is very harmful to the environment, our waterways and oceans. These are things I strongly feel we need to protect, now more than ever.

SIZING:

I offer two collar widths – 3/4inch (19mm) or 1inch (25.5mm).

3/4″ – suitable for Small to Medium dogs up to around 20″ neck
1″ – suitable for Medium to Large dogs upwards of 20″ neck

There are 2 ways in which you can determine the right size collar for your dog.

Option 1: Measure your dogs old collar. to do this, lay the collar out as use a tape measure from the inner edge of the buckle to the hole most used. This will give you the correct size.

Option 2: Measure your dogs neck. there should be enough room so its not tight or loose – a rough gauge is to allow 2 fingers to sit under the tape whilst measuring.

Let me know if you’d like your dogs name or initials stamped onto the item, free of charge! Each letter measures roughly 5mm x 8mm . If you choose to have a collar personalised I cannot offer returns, exchanges, or refunds.

All my items are shipped via the Royal Mail with their ‘Track & Trace service’. You will receive a unique tracking number through which we can both check the progress of delivery.
