Description

Handmade and braided leather belt available in 4 colours, one size fits all, with solid brass buckle.

Designed and hand-made to last a lifetime; from full grain oak-tanned leather produced in Devon.

This technique, the Mystery Braid, means the leather is fixed at both ends with the leather braided in 3 strips the entire length – it cannot come undone. Double-capped brass rivets are used to secure the buckle and belt keeper in place.

All belts are then hand-burnished and sealed with beeswax to add a stronger waterproof layer.

SIZING:
From where buckle meets leather till belt tip – 110cm

Because the entire belt is braided there are no traditional notches to secure the belt, instead you can adjust the fitting easily through any part of the braided end. This belt would fit waists up to 36″ inches, but if you have a specific requirement of size please do let me know

PERSONALISATION:
Let me know if you’d like your initials stamped onto the item, free of charge! Each letter measures roughly 5mm x 8mm and this stamp will be placed on the rear of the belt behind the belt keeper.

What is Veg Tan Leather?

Vegetable Tanned Leather is the preferred material for many leather workers because, despite the increased cost to buy, it is a beautiful material to work with. Only natural materials such as fruits, leaves, and husks are used to dye the leather, after which, each hide is hung for several weeks. This is compared to the globally dominant method of Chromium tanning, which reduces the process to a mere few days. Whilst certainly time-effective, it is important to me to try to avoid using chrome-tanned leather as the vast use of acidic chemicals in this process is very harmful to the environment, our waterways and oceans. These are things I strongly feel we need to protect, now more than ever.
